id a visit to Mr Hololei, the European Commission Director-General for Mobility and Transport, to discuss relevant developments for shippers. The ESC delegation explained the difficult situation on the shortage of drivers and logistical personnel.
The last month the shortage was most obvious in road transportation but is also relevant in other modes such as inland shipping. Among other topics discussed with Mr Hololei were the lessons learnt from the Rastatt incident and the synergy between innovation projects. The meeting was carried out in a very constructive way, and Mr Hololei expressed his willingness to stay in contact with ESC.
