The Belgian Shippers’ Council joined the dangerous goods campaign of Air Cargo Belgium and the two organisations together with the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority produced a brochure on dangerous goods compliance.
This brochure is dedicated to air cargo community to raise awareness of the consequences of incorrect dangerous goods handling, the value of correct training, and the importance for air cargo actors to take responsibility.
The consequences of non-compliant dangerous goods sent by air involve additional costs, missed flights, and a risk of an aeroplane crash.
On the shippers’ side, the improvement of dangerous goods handling would be seen in a proper training and fulfillment of necessary compliance procedures, such as a proper declaration before the shipment is brought to the airport.
