Mourad Bensadik, Executive Vice President Supply Chain France at Carrefour, succeeds Denis Choumert as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the French Shippers’ Association – Association des Utilisateurs de Transport de Fret (AUTF).
Mourad Bensadik began his career in human resources with the Kering Group before joining Relais Colis, where he became Managing Director. In 2014, he was appointed Logistics, Transport, and Flow Director of the FNAC-Darty group. In 2019, he was appointed Technical and Logistics Director of the Pomona group. He joined Carrefour in August 2020 as Director of the e-commerce supply chain in France, then as Director of e-commerce and e-commerce operations in France and the Group.
While a large proportion of AUTF’s member companies come from the industrial sectors, Mourad Bensadik’s expertise in the field of distribution and e-commerce,
which is directly linked to consumer expectations, enriches AUTF’s vision, feeds the actions taken with shippers and affirms the association’s legitimacy and ambitions vis-à-vis the public authorities, with regard to current political, economic, environmental and societal issues.
Succeeding Denis Choumert after 18 years as Chairman
The challenges of decarbonisation and its financing, interoperability and data sharing, national river and rail strategies, urban logistics, the deployment of shippers’ clubs at regional level and ambitious projects such as that for a fleet of veliac container ships led by a coalition of shippers within a joint association of AUTF and France Supply Chain are all subjects that Mourad Bensadik will have to pursue and explore in greater depth.
Mourad Bensadik was elected Chairman of the AUTF at the Board meeting on 1 October.
Denis Choumert, Honorary President of the AUTF following this handover, remains Vice President and Treasurer of the European Shippers’ Council, thus affirming the association’s influence at both national and international level.
The AUTF – Multisectoral and resolutely multimodal for over 30 years
AUTF is a professional shippers’ association that represents and supports industrial and commercial companies whose activities require the transport of goods (import/export/national distribution) by all modes of transport (road, rail, river, sea or air).
Its action is part of a global approach to improving the economic and environmental performance of transport chains, in the interests of competitiveness and the CSR challenges facing companies, as well as the attractiveness of the region. Located in several regions, AUTF brings together the supply chain, logistics, transport and logistics services purchasing managers of more than 140 major groups and companies, as well as 30 industry federations. Through specific committees and working groups, it supports its members in dealing with the political, economic, and social issues relating to freight transport, as well as developments in the sector, bringing them together to share best practice and providing them with information and advice by keeping a regulatory watch.
AUTF promotes and defends the interests of shippers with public authorities and in various international, European, and national bodies. AUTF’s expertise and reputation make it a key contact and spokesperson for shippers with public and private stakeholders and the media.
