On 16 November, 2023, ESC and CLECAT will host the Logistics for Europe 2023 event, entitled ”Partnering Compliance and Competitiveness in the EU – Is it Possible?”
The event aims to facilitate a constructive dialogue among industry representatives from freight forwarding, customs agents, shippers, and European policymakers to address the challenges faced by the European industry.
The Forum will address some of the wide-ranging of reforms proposed by the European Commission, including the EU Customs Reform and its potential impact on SMEs in the EU. Additionally, the event will explore the increasing pressure on trade to adopt sustainable and transparent sourcing practices, amidst a multitude of new reporting standards. As numerous companies fall under the scope of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), it is evident that significant changes to systems and processes will be necessary to achieve compliance. Can this work for European business and what are the limits for the EU to sustain its competitiveness?
Speakers include Rem Korteweg, Senior Research Fellow, Clingendael Institute, Vanesa Hernández Guerrero, DG TAXUD, Javier Campillo, Financial Counsellor Customs, Spanish Permanent Representation, Dimitri Sérafimoff, Director Customs Support, Nancy Lindenhovius, Compliance Officer, Wilmar Europe, Klaus Hufschlag, Senior Vice President at Deutsche Post DHL Group, responsible for ESG Reporting and Controlling and others to follow.
The programme will be published soon.
The event takes place on the 16th November from 14:00 to 17:30 at the Brussels Stanhope Hotel.
