European shippers are challenging new cargo handling surcharges being imposed by air freight handlers. Together with freight forwarders they call on air freight handlers to justify new fees and question their simultaneous introduction by several companies on competition grounds. Each ground handler has a unique operation and, therefore, a different level of vulnerability to the Covid-19 crisis. ESC calls to act together in dealing with this crisis and hopes the ground handlers will take the appropriate steps in this case.
