CORE, the global supply chain project, is driving the implementation of new technologies to speed up the supply chain, improve quality and efficiency, and to comply with the necessary regulations.
Previously, we spoke about CORE developments that improve cooperation with customs and create a better visibility for the supply chain. Some other of CORE technologies include a light composite container and Babbler, a digital seal. The container was designed by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, embedded with sensors and used for CORE activities. Dutch software specialists Itude Mobile developed a digital seal that requires no modification of the container material. Sensors detect light when the seal is broken. Both the seal status and the temperature of cargo can be inspected wirelessly.
