The BlueBARGE Consortium aims to develop an optimal power barge solution for supplying electrical power offshore. Aligned with EU and IMO emission reduction goals, it targets commercialization by 2030. Project partners will collaborate on containerised green energy supply modules, addressing integration challenges and regulatory compliance. The initiative explores technical alternatives to support the maritime industry’s transition toward electrification and decarbonisation.
Within the activities of the BlueBARGE Project, a particular emphasis is dedicated to scaling and prototyping the BlueBARGE solution, aiming to revolutionize maritime energy efficiency. This comprehensive effort involves various stages, from integrating Power Supply systems to conducting extensive tests, performing modularity analysis, and considering retrofitting actions to existing vessels.
