Cabotage, resting times for drivers, posting of workers, road charging, combined transport, shortage of drivers, and other issues became the extensive topics of the discussion between policy makers and shippers at the Transport for Future seminar organised by ESC and Transprime in Barcelona on 17 May 2018.
Flexibility, good working conditions, and less administrative burden are the priorities for shippers in inland transportation. The European Commission’s Deputy Director General for Mobility and Transport Mathew Baldwin stressed that the European Commission is mainstreaming shippers’ views in all its policy making to make it relevant and important for end-users.
The event was hosted by the Port of Barcelona and gathered more than 70 participants. The report will be available soon. For the presentation, please see here.
