2017 Supply Chain Worldwide Survey commissioned by Geodis was led from October to December 2016 by an independent research institute. The objective of the survey was to identify supply chain challenges and areas for potential improvement. The survey collected 623 professional feedbacks from 17 countries, split roughly evenly between Western Europe, North America, and Asia.
Compared with 2015 survey, the top two priorities remain the same in 2017. These are ensuring no error, on time and in full deliveries, and improving product availability for delivery. However, in 2017 survey respondents rated improving end-to-end supply chain visibility and optimising inventory costs much higher than before and became the third and the fourth most important objectives.
