Following the decision of the European Commission, the French Directorate General of Customs and Indirect Rights (DGDDI) published a Notice to importers of certain agricultural and industrial products eligible for autonomous tariff suspensions and quotas.
In accordance with the rules in force, requests for suspensions and autonomous tariff quotas for the cycle of January 1, 2021 are to be initially filed at the DGDDI for February 1, 2020. Given the exceptional circumstances arising from the Covid-19 epidemic, the European Commission has extended this deadline: new requests must be deposited by the DGDDI by 4 May 2020 at the latest.
Therefore, to ensure national admissibility of requests, importers who would like to benefit from this extension should send their complete files to the DGDDI to the following address: dg-comint3-suspensions@douane.finances.gouv.fr no later than Friday, April 24, 2020.
This extension only concerns new requests for products enabling the manufacture of goods closely linked to the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.
