ESC is organising a second joint workshop with railways on ‘Rail freight competitiveness and attractiveness’ on 6 April, from 10.00 to 13.00, as part of the next ESC Railway Transport Council meeting.
This workshop will be open to all shippers that are members of national shippers’ associations and sectorial associations members of ESC, as well as direct members of ESC. It will also be attended by several railway undertakings members of CER, UIC and ERFA.
The workshop will help shippers and railway undertakings better understand their respective needs and constraints in order to identify practical ways of increasing rail freight’s performance and attractiveness for shippers. Building on the first joint workshop which took place last September, it will allow both sides to identify concrete solutions as part of a joint action plan, which will be presented to rail freight CEOs on 4 May during their annual meeting.
The workshop, which takes place before the Railway transport Council meeting, will focus on finalising the joint action plan with railways, and will explore in greater details the issues of reliability & punctuality and last mile infrastructure & operations, in order to identify a joint way forward for the benefit of shippers.
Shippers interested in attending this workshop should register by sending an email to pbastidon@fta.co.uk indicating their name, company and job title, by Friday 31 March.
