The 4th International BME/VDV Intermodal Congress will take place on 26-27 September in Magdeburg / Germany. The motto of the congress is ‘Shifting European Trailer Traffic to Rail – Challenges, Innovations and Solutions‘ and will be held in two languages: German and English.
Climate protection, energy saving, and staff shortages – these are hot topics in freight transport as well. But if you look at the highways, you see trailers, trailers, and more and more trailers.
If you want to move the goods that are loaded in trailers today onto the rails, you have two options. Either you load the goods into a freight car or you load the trailer together with the goods onto the rail.
For companies without their own rail siding, transporting trailers by rail is a very attractive transport solution. Therefore, the 4th International BME/VDV Intermodal Congress deals with challenges and best practice examples for shifting trailer transports in Europe to the environmentally friendly and resource-saving rail.
