The Commission will present its Report on the Implementation and Enforcement of EU Trade Agreements over 2020 to the members of the Parliamentary Committee on International Trade on the 9th of November 2021.
This is the Commission’s first consolidated report on trade implementation and enforcement actions. It presents the impact of the most economically significant EU trade agreements and actions by the Commission to eliminate trade and investment barriers in third country markets. As the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement only entered into force on 1 May 2021 (provisionally applied as of 1 January), it will be covered by the 2022 edition of this Report.
The Report covers four priority areas in implementation and enforcement:
1. Making full use of the opportunities provided by EU trade agreements (section II);
2. Supporting the take-up of trade agreements by Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (section III);
3. Addressing barriers and finding solutions (section IV); and
4. Bilateral and multilateral enforcement of trade commitments: Resolving Disputes (section V).
