The competitiveness of the EU economy is a key element in the economic agenda for the EU, guided by the Draghi report on the future of EU competitiveness in 2024.
The study “Aviation Sector Strategic Action Plan”, requested by the TRAN Committee of the European Parliament, assesses the current and future competitiveness of the EU aviation sector across its value chain (airlines, airports, aerospace, air navigation services, ground handling, and aviation fuel). It highlights strengths, threats, and opportunities, gives comparisons with third country competitors, and provides an assessment of working conditions.
The study also identifies a set of recommendations paving the way towards a strategic action plan for the EU aviation sector, which aim to maintain and improve the competitiveness of EU aviation in the medium- to long-term.
