As a member of the European Ports Alliance Public-Private Partnership, the European Shippers’ Council will contribute to the next European Ports Alliance PPP Ministerial Meeting hosted by the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU in Dublin on 16 July 2026. The meeting will be co-hosted with the European Commission.
The objective of the meeting will be to take stock of the progress achieved by the European Ports Alliance since the last Ministerial meeting last year, exchange on the joint efforts of all stakeholders to increase port security across the EU in all ports attractive for drug trafficking, may they be big or small seaports or inland ports, and discuss future priorities for the European Ports Alliance. It will also include a visit to the Port of Dublin.
The European Ports Alliance brings together 28 countries (26 EU Member States, Norway and Switzerland), over 50 seaports and inland ports, industry associations, the EU Commission, key EU agencies and bodies (Europol, Eurojust, EU Drugs Agency, EPPO) and Council. It supports the Commission’s broader effort to tackle organised crime and drugs trafficking through a whole-of-society, multi-stakeholder approach under the ProtectEU Strategy, and the EU Ports Strategy, which has also been reflected in June European Council Conclusions.
