The congestion in ports across the United States West Coast seem to be at an all-time high, European and American businesses argue.
The European Shippers’ Council (ESC) spoke with European Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc, yesterday, about creating a level playing field for shippers and taking down trade barriers within the European Union.
Together with the new European Commission, businesses across Europe want to work to ‘green’ their supply chain. Nik Delmeire, the newly appointed Secretary General of the European Shippers’ Council (ESC), said it is time for businesses to measure, monitor and reduce emissions by freight transport. (more…)
The elimination of non-tariff trade barriers will have enormous positive effects on the European economy. The European Shippers’ Council (ESC) therefore wants that to be one of the main topics of the new free trade agreement that is presently being negotiated between the European Union and the United States.
