France and Sweden agreed on measures for autonomous trucks

Gothenburg, Sweden, 18-19 June 2018, the ministers from the 28 EU Member States agreed on a series of important steps to facilitate the timely deployment of connected and automated vehicles. The French and Swedish transport ministers have determined a partnership roadmap to deepen bilateral exchanges on the cross-use of test sites for projects related to autonomous and connected driving of trucks and electric roads. They will share best practices, conduct joint tests, and jointly prepare new regulations. The two countries will also focus on clean transport means and high-capacity solutions, such as high-speed trains.

Technical meetings with stakeholders to discuss the concrete results of the French and Swedish cooperation, to share the experience, and identify critical solutions will be organised starting from the second half of 2018.
