European Commission is looking for traders to evaluate customs portal

As the Union Customs Code entered into force on 1 May 2016, the EC is upgrading and putting in place new electronic systems necessary to apply the provisions of the new UCC. A new user interface has been created within the EU Trader Portal, a single electronic access point at EU level for accessing the electronic customs system. Traders will be using this new interface within the EU Trader Portal to get information on tariff classification of the goods that they intend to import or export. Since it’s the traders who will be using it, it is important to the Commission to obtain traders’ feedback before putting the application live in October 2019.

The review process will take place in August 2018. Traders who are willing to participate in the review please send an email to k.kliuyeva@europeanshippers.eu by Friday 06/07/2018.
